Reba McEntire is strong in her faith, but she says she learned most of her values by example from watching her family, and not just from growing up inside the Bible Belt. The spunky redhead even sparked some lively debate last year after declaring her belief in reincarnation, but she's quick to credit her faith in God for getting her through some tough times."People said I can't be a Christian if I believe in reincarnation," Reba tells the Toronto Star. "But I always felt God loves us so much He'd want to recycle us and not just throw us away. Maybe I'm part Buddhist, part Christian, but you don't have to categorize or label me. Just say that I'm a true believer in a higher power. My faith has always been very important to me. I don't know how I would have survived in this world without it."
Perhaps Reba's 'Consider Me Gone' should end with a question mark?

I agree with you BAND GEEK....aol doesn't have anything better to report than a person's personal religious belief. aol is always trying to stir up debates over innocent comments. I am, and will remain a REBA fan..

I'm with you Reba. Organized religion is too much for me and I was raised deep south Baptist. It's all about being good, doing good and believing.

ok so here is the deal as I see it..bible clearly states that we all go to heaven at the same time people believe in pergatory so i suppose those people know specifically what GOD intended that to be?
do we all believe that in one lifetime we can learn all we need to? dont you think God would give us every chance to learn love and believe ? personally i know there is mch more for me to learn i cant do it in one lifetime free will life abuse all interfere I know God is watching i know He will keep trying to help me in this life and another I know that the bible is open for interpretation has to because it was written by man can all of you relate a story exactly as you heard it ? bottom line we all have to discover our own hearts our own minds while we walk this earth with God

I agree.... Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, and you don't have to agree with them. That's what's wrong with SO MUCH today; people feel everyone has to be like/act like/feel like/believe like them or they are wrong. As long as someone doesn't push THEIR feelings/beliefs on me and they are good decent people, I don't care what they do or how they feel.... Move on to more important things people. This woman is a wonderful human being and doesn't need everyone to agree with her or feel about things the same way she does...

Look you all, Reba gets herself into these messes on her own. Those of us who comment on her "Words of wisdom" are allowed to speak our minds aren't we? Last week she announced her love for the gays. She even said God's Word would not deny her belief. BUT IT DOES. Then there is reincarnation. God's Word says, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Nothing about reincarnation in it. I don't know if she's married or not but she needs to follow the rules for a household laid down by God in 1 Corinthians 11 verses 1 - 12.

God wants to "recycle us" like plastic or aluminum cans?
Hahaha! I feel sorry for her. Someone needs to give her a Bible so she won't be confused.
Lizat 9-23-2009
That's a rather narrow-minded thing to say, IMO. Her beliefs are slightly different from the norm, so what? It doesn't mean she's "confused," she's just smart enough to be able to define her faith in the way that she thinks is right.

So much for tolerance....
jerryat 9-23-2009
totally agree with you vgem. and I don't care how my comment is ranked. if she thinks that we are "thrown away" after life on earth, then she has obviously become more worried about being politically correct and appealing to people than to the higher power(formerly known as God).
Scottat 9-23-2009
Maybe you should pick up a history book, ass.
SpiceMonkeyat 9-23-2009
Let us guess, vgem, you're a Republican, right? Not that all Republicans are this ignorant and narrow-minded, but surely someone as ignorant and narrow-minded as you certainly isn't a Democrat.
melissaat 9-23-2009
im with you
Aviceat 9-23-2009
The Bible says God moves in mysterious ways. It doesn't give you the right to speak for Her. You "religious" know-it-alls will have to answer for that too.
Amanda Adamsat 9-23-2009
I couldn't agree more! If she actually picked up a Bible and actually read it she would know that when we die we are judged and we either go to Heaven or Hell.
